The sad and the glad
Wednesday, August 06, 2008, 11:42 AM
I just read yuan's blog and it made me both glad and sad at the same time.

I thought she would never call me 'jie' ever again after what we've been through and i really have a sour feeling about it. I'm saddened by it until i read her blog (liyi, my 'jie'), i dunno if she still regards me as 'jie' but i am still concerned about her. She never mentions the word 'jie' ever since that incident and i have been called 'liyi' ever since... It's difficult to believe nothing happened between us but at least both of us are trying to forget and forgive and change for the better. We need to give each other another chance. But what if we don't have things to talk about when we meet and what if we daren't say something bad about or even tease one another in fear of history repeating itself? It's complicated and i fear we won't be REAL to each other anymore the next time we meet...

It's a time we shld cherish all friendships and i think to make it work we have to take the first step everytime. I'm so glad some of my efforts to keep in contact with other friends paid off... Some people change and they aren't like the one i've known years ago and i think giving to friends will still be worth it if you know that they will change for the better one day and that in the process you become stronger while learning from the process and also change yourself for the better. It's important to have friends who can share your sadness and happiness together and i'm glad i have such friends around me.

Giving is not about expecting returns. my mum always says to be able to give is already a blessing. I sometimes think otherwise but have learnt that it will pay off somehow whether we want it or not... it's just a matter of time and the amount of work you put in and never expecting returns... ...

Learing point for me: Not taking things for granted is the attitude to cherishing life and family and friends and everyting around us.
